Cookie Policy

This page explains which cookies the Egensolve site sets, why each one is there, and how you can control them. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a browser stores on your device when you visit a site. They are commonly used to make a site work, to remember your preferences, or to follow you between sites for advertising.

What we actually set

We set the minimum the site needs to run. None of it is optional, which is why the cookie notice has no reject button: a control that switches nothing off would be a pretence.

NameSourceLifetimePurpose
egensolve-session This site 2 hours Ties your requests together as you move around the site, and keeps you signed in to the dashboard.
XSRF-TOKEN This site 2 hours Protects forms against cross-site request forgery, so another site cannot submit data in your name.
appearance This site 1 year Remembers whether you chose light or dark mode, so you do not set it again every visit.
cookie-consent This site 1 year Records that you have seen the cookie notice, so it does not reappear.
_GRECAPTCHA Google Set by Google Tells people apart from bots on our contact and newsletter forms. It loads at the moment you submit a form, not when you open a page.

We also use your browser's local storage (localStorage) for the same two preferences: your light or dark mode choice, and the record that you have seen the cookie notice. Both stay on your device and are never sent to us.

What we do not use

Worth stating plainly, because it is unusual:

  • No Google Analytics, and no other analytics tool.
  • No Meta pixel, and no advertising or marketing tracking cookies.
  • No session recording and no heatmaps.
  • We do not sell your data or share it with data brokers or advertisers.

If we ever add any of these, this page changes and the cookie notice reappears to ask you first.

Controlling cookies

Every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies from its privacy settings. Blocking the essential ones will stop the site working properly: you will not be able to submit the contact form or sign in.

To see the cookie notice again, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Third-party cookies

The only outside party that may set a cookie through our site is Google, via reCAPTCHA, to protect our forms. What Google does with that data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Changes to this page

We update this page whenever the way the site works changes. The date of the last update is at the top.
